BIO

Raised in Chicago, Janessa Rivera has been drawing and creating since childhood. She has a BA from a private Chicago University and majors in Art, Media and Design with a minor in Business. Her multimedia practice meets at the intersection of art & design with a strong focus on narrative drawings and digital illustration. As a freelance artist, original paintings, prints and other works have been featured in prominent locations during pop-up events and group exhibitions at Hairpin Studios, The Promontory, The Depaul Art Museum and Chop Shop First Ward prior to the pandemic.

In addition to designing the logo for the Bianca's Bodega franchise (one location in Revival Hall), she also hand printed their stickers. She has also assisted in the production of murals in various locations throughout the city. Her most recent project involved the design and execution of three murals in downtown Chicago's newest food hall, Urban Space. She is interested in collaborating with other local artists for large scale productions.
